About
Hi there! I’m Katerina, graduate of the York University/Sheridan College Bachelor of Design (YSDN) program.
I am interested in all areas of design including branding and editorial design. I am a naturally curious person, obsessed with discovering how things work and believe that there is no limit to human creativity. I take every opportunity to explore all design has to offer, to help expand my knowledge and skills as a graphic designer.
I think of design as the core of all things. The relevance and functionality of a product, a website used to attract audiences, all elevated by good design. In my studies I have become aware of what I call “treachery” behind design, how it can be wasteful and even manipulative. I think of it as a weapon. It can be used for goodness or corruption. It depends on both the intentions of the designer, as well as how it is perceived by the masses. As a result of this, I choose to design for good. That means that I try to communicate authentic messages in an efficient way that will make sense to my target audience and use my power as a designer to become an active agent for change.
I am currently looking for careers in graphic design and freelance opportunities. Feel free to reach out and contact me about my work, I would love to get in touch!
